Video Conference with Dr. Salman Hameed

The 2nd video conference with Dr. Salman Hameed was scheduled today. Mr. Umair, Mr. Ali, Mr. Omer and Mr. Irfan were present infront of the camera at Lahore. On the other side Mr. Behzad Anwar was sitting quite and listening to the conversation. I and my friend Mr. Shumail were joining the conference from Hyderabad at my home, he is my neighbour as well as good friend. This was the first time of Mr. Shumail and he liked it alot and intends to come again.

The discussion was really great as before. Dr. Salman Hameed had managed very much of his precious time for us from his busy schedule.

The most part of today’s discussion was Science and Religion. However other questions related to Next Generation Space Telescope, dark matter, technologies related to spacecraft fuel were also entertained.

I asked about the fuel of Voyager 1 because I was confused how will it continue operating when it has used all of his fuel.

Mr. Irfan asked about Science and Religion and he questioned in an excellent way. And ofcourse, the replies of Dr. Salman were fabulous. Now I can also talk on this topic, thanks to Dr. Salman 🙂

Mr. Shumail asked about the Darkness and absence of light, but his question remained unanswered.

The 2nd part of this report is written by Mr. Ali Khan.

Thanks for the accurate and prompt report Bilal.

On route to the place, I watched the orange sun going down. Already it was cold. At the place, fog started to gather and very early all traffic had their head lights on.

The conference room was spacious and well lit with self service tea dispenser, overhead projector and camera.

I only missed an exhaust fan there. Most conference rooms I have seen have no provision for fresh air, so people use up almost all the oxygen.

Umair used his own projector and lap top camera and speakers. Omer found a mic to use. World call usb net gave good connecticity.

We saw Bilal in t-shirt. He had his AC on while we had mufflers and caps. Salman said that it was snowing outside his room in USA.

There was initial difficulty connecting with Salman Hameed but was resolved. Irfan was there. Behzad and Bilal were connected remotely via oovoo.

It was an interesting discussion ranging from religion, athiesm in scientific community, philosophy, voyger 1’s power source and its deviation from the calculated path, James Webb telescope and the latest almost positive results of a dark matter experiment in the mines of Minnasota.

We decided to have such conference regularly and discuss latest findings in Astronomy.

On the way back Omer had some work near my home so I got a free lift.

The views of Dr. Salman were like, he said if you ask “How is all this happening” ? then science can answer, but if you ask “Why is all this happening” ? then you will have to consult the religion because science can not answer the purpose of creation. Little or surface knowledge of science makes you an atheist, while a deep and comprehensive study of science makes you a believer in God.
